Smart Chaja – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Smart Chaja mobile application ("the App"), owned and operated by TJR ENGINEERING WORKS LIMITED ("the Company", "we", "our", "us").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the App. Users under 18 may only use the App with parental/guardian supervision.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

3. Services

Smart Chaja provides power bank rental and related electronic charging services via self-service stations connected to the App. Additional features may be introduced from time to time.

4. User Obligations

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for unlawful purposes.
  • Damage, tamper with, or misuse Smart Chaja equipment.
  • Circumvent payment, return, or security features.

5. Fees and Payments

  • Service fees are displayed in the App before confirmation.
  • Payments are processed through integrated payment gateways (e.g., mobile money, cards).
  • You agree to pay all applicable charges.

6. Equipment Return Policy

  • All rented equipment must be returned to a Smart Chaja station within the specified rental period.
  • Late returns may incur additional fees, as displayed in the App.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, and trademarks in the App are owned by the Company. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Company is not liable for:

  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
  • Device damage due to user negligence or misuse.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Smart Chaja – Privacy Policy

TJR ENGINEERING WORKS LIMITED ("we", "our", "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Smart Chaja App.

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Name, contact details, payment details, national ID (if required).
  • Usage Data: Rental history, device location (with your consent), in-app activity.
  • Technical Data: Device type, operating system, IP address.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and improve our services.
  • Process payments and manage accounts.
  • Communicate with you about your account, promotions, or policy changes.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We may share information with:

  • Payment service providers for transaction processing.
  • Regulatory authorities when required by law.
  • Service partners strictly for operational purposes.

4. Data Security

We use encryption, secure servers, and restricted access to protect your data.

Smart Chaja – Refund and Claims Policy

At TJR ENGINEERING WORKS LIMITED, we aim to ensure customer satisfaction with the Smart Chaja service. This policy outlines when refunds or claims apply.

1. Refund Eligibility

You may request a refund if:

  • You were charged for a service you did not use.
  • Equipment was defective or failed during use, preventing completion of service.
  • Duplicate payments occurred due to system error.

2. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds will not be issued if:

  • The equipment was damaged due to user negligence.
  • The service was completed successfully but the user changed their mind.
  • Late return fees are applied.

3. How to Request a Refund

  • Submit your claim within 3 working days from the transaction date.
  • Provide transaction ID, account details, and reason for claim.
  • Email your request to info@tewl.co.tz or submit via the App help section.

4. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7 working days.
  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method used.

5. Claims for Damages

If you believe the service caused damage to your device, please submit a written claim with supporting evidence. Claims will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
